What if there was a place you could go where thousands of resources are all at your finger tips? If you could think it, you could search it and find it – all on Education.com. We’ve been exploring just some of the more then 39,000 learning resources available to us through Education.com and we’re excited to share them with you.
Education.com makes it simple
The first thing I want to mention about Education.com is just how simple it is to use. Everything is well organized for you to be able to find what you need. Plus, the search function works really well, too. And they offer a lot of filters to be able to quickly narrow down what you are looking for.
They have a ton of printable worksheets for K-8th grade – though that’s not all they offer. But with the worksheets, it’s as easy as finding the one you want and printing it. Some worksheets even offer an interactive worksheet format where your child can fill the worksheet out on the computer and it will even score it!
My oldest kid figured out how to navigate and find cool worksheets all on his own. I showed him the site – mainly for the games – but then I noticed he had looked through the worksheets and printed some that appealed to him. The other day he printed out every Hink Pink he could find, for every season, completing them all, even the ones for holidays that were months away. (Hink Pinks are riddles where the answer is a set of rhyming words.) I also noticed him printing some math worksheets on square roots and cube roots. It’s something you can search for resources on – and your kid can also.
Beyond worksheets, Education.com offers hands on activities, too
While Education.com has a worksheet for everything, they also have lots of hands-on activities as well. One thing I really noticed is that the section on Engineering and Science Inquiry has a subsection for working on observations and data collection. This is a skill we have been actively working on as my oldest approaches high school, so it’s exciting to see how Education.com supports that.
But beyond just science, they also have hands on activities in a host of other subjects as well. They have arts and crafts, language arts ideas, social studies, and math as well!
Solid academics are a feature of Education.com
I always appreciate when I feel like a company has kept academics at the forefront and I definitely feel that Education.com has. They are aligned with current educational standards and best teaching practices for K-8 education. If you are looking for common core aligned materials, Education.com makes them easy to find.
They also have a section where you can look at each grade week by week. There, it gives you suggestions to cover every week. This could help you to find a collection of worksheets and activities that are appropriate to your child’s age grouped together to make a good study of the concepts – every single week!
Your membership to Education.com gives you access to everything
One really great feature of Education.com is that everything is included in your premium membership. This makes it an awesome resource to pull from time and time again. You won’t have to worry about running across anything that you have to pay extra for. Everything is included. That’s one of the reasons I feel it is such a great resource vault.
Plus, you can also get 55% off when you use code EDCOM55 – making your resource vault even more affordable! Especially on a tight budget, having a resource vault can be invaluable. Instead of searching down resources from many different places, you can get many of the resources you need from one place.
Education.com has so many resources to explore
There is a huge variety of resources on Education.com. In addition to worksheets and hands-on activities which I’ve already mentioned, they also have educational games, a worksheet builder to help you build your own worksheets (great for custom activities!), guided lessons, and even whole workbooks. (I’ve actually even spotted some of the Evan-Moor workbooks we like come up in search!).
There are two areas I especially want to highlight. First, is the Roly Recommends section. I’ve found that this section not only contains the weekly recommendations I mentioned above, but often seasonal recommendations as well. Currently, I see that Roly is recommending resources for Spring and Earth Day. If you really love holiday schooling (like my good friend Christy often talks about) Education.com has tons of resources for that. In the search options, you can even filter by occasion with more than 30 options! I even spotted Spring Break packets, which would be the perfect addition to do in the car on a spring break road trip.
The second is the Kids area. To explain the Kids area, I should say that you can add multiple kids to your account (with no extra charge! It’s just included). For each kid, you can assign them individually anything you would like them to do. They’ll see that in their area. Additionally, it will also create paths for them, with challenges for them to complete and subject paths that they can walk through. Especially motivating for my son is the coins that they earn for completing these and the virtual rewards they can buy with those coins. I love that it gives them a path to work through the learning games and interactive resources that keeps them focused and moving forward. The typing games have been especially beneficial for my youngest in giving him some more practice with a crucial skill he’s still developing.
All of this (and more!) can be found at Education.com. Don’t forget to save 55% with code EDCOM55 when you sign up.
