What is the SMART Learning Collection?

Today, I’m so excited to be introducing the SMART Learning Collection to you. I’ve been thinking about this for several months and in this post, I’m going to explain more of my reasoning behind the shift and what it means for you! Rather watch a video instead?

Simple to Implement

When you buy an awesome curriculum, it shouldn’t leave you scratching your head trying to figure out how to use it. Everything in the SMART Learning Collection is designed to be simple to start, simple to implement.

For example, inside most of my resources, you’ll find a thank you letter. I highly recommend reading this thank you letter because it will help you know what to expect, give you a heads up on any possible content you might want to be aware of, and help you to start thinking through and planning it.

The flexibility of the resource is another way they are simple to implement. If you don’t have access to a certain book or other included resource, there are always other options. Very few parts are crucial to the study, making it easy to skip over parts that are just not accessible or right for your family.

Meaningful Family Experiences

One of the reasons that we really started homeschooling was for the time. At the time we started homeschooling, my husband worked a job that had mandatory Saturdays every week. We realized that we would miss so much family time when the kids were in school. We didn’t want that.

Homeschooling doesn’t happen in a vacuum, it happens in a family. Growing and learning together in a meaningful way is an important part of homeschooling.  We have that gift of time and I want to encourage you to use it. I want you to read with your kids, laugh with your kids, grow with you kids, and so much more!

Academically Oriented

At Pocket Homeschool, my philosophy is that academics matter. It’s true that not every kid will go to college. And yes, it’s true that you won’t use everything you learn during school. But I deeply value learning and continuing to grow. It’s part of my philosophy that embraces life long learning.

You should feel confident that your curriculum is preparing your child for any future they can imagine. I believe there is never a point we reach where we learn it all, so we should keep learning. We should strive to be life long learners who have a zest and a joy for learning.

This also means that I seek to include and promote high quality sources and materials. You should be able to feel confident that the information you are teaching your children is accurate and trustworthy.

Reasonably Priced

I want to price things in a way that is fair for you and for me. I don’t want you to have to break the bank in order to buy curriculum. I want to price things fairly and run sales and give things away where I can.

I know that when it comes to what is reasonably priced that everyone has a different definition of that. My definition may not be the same as your definition, but please know that I will do what I can to make it affordable. I invite you to email me at any time if you are interested in something but feel it is out of your price range and I will try and work with you.

Tools for Explorative Learning

When I’m creating resources, it is never my goal to tell you, “Do it exactly like this.” Instead, my goal is to give you the tools so that you feel empowered to teach it in a way that makes sense for your kids and your family.

The resources you find here will serve as a guide – trail markers to help you on your homeschool path. You are still in the driver’s seat of your child’s education. I’m here to offer you different paths you could take. This is why I often include many suggestions because I want you to pick the ones that work for you and leave the ones that don’t. At the end of the day, it’s your family and the education of your kids.

So Welcome to the SMART Learning Collection!
