I am so excited today to be releasing a dinosaur movement poem! This poem focuses on actions that your young child can do along with counting from 1-15. I think that poetry and rhythm and rhyme and movement all help young children to learn and to be engaged and that’s why I made this video, with an original poem, written by me.
If you’d like to read this again for your child, here is a full text of the poem.
I am a Dinosaur
by Melissa Brander
I am a dinosaur
Can you hear my dino roar?
I stomp about with my big feet
Some ate plants and some ate meat
I am a dinosaur
I’m too big to take to the store
But we weren’t all one kind –
There were many you could find
I am a dinosaur
What should you look for?
Some of us had tails
Lots of us had scales!
I am a dinosaur
Can you hear me snore?
Even dinosaurs have to sleep
It’s time for counting sheep
Do you want more dinosaur resources? I have great news! I have created a list of high quality dinosaur books to read aloud to your child. Featuring both books for younger kids as well as elementary level kids and fiction and non-fiction, you’re sure to find something your family loves on this list.
Head here to get a copy of the dinosaur booklist I put together to go with this video!
