How to Kill a Giant is a 2024 Christian Indie Awards Winner.
Review: How to Kill a Giant is a short, quick read featuring a group of three kids who find themselves suddenly transported back to ancient Israel, meeting David and encountering trouble, strange foods, and more along the way. I read it alongside my thirteen year old and we both enjoyed it, though I felt at times the writing was a bit stilted and forced, especially in the beginning. Once they reach ancient Israel, the story moves along with great excitement for the most part. I enjoyed the themes of friendship and learning to be brave. I appreciated how the story showed character growth in the main character, taking him from a place of fear and timidity to a place of being able to do what is right.
